Holiday Content Planning

It’s November already and that means the holidays are underway in the marketing world! Small business owners and startups, you have so much on your plate that you may still be working through your content posting, holiday sales prep, and more. Since we are here to help you de-stress this holiday season (and simplify your digital marketing!), we’ve come up with a few tips to help you make things easier. Ready?! Let’s go.

  1. Doing some DIY content creation this year? Here are two tips for holiday photos:

  • If you are in Northern Michigan, Evergreen trees abound. Find a good quiet spot, take a blanket, some mugs, and your favorite winter wear, plus any helpful props or goods that you are selling, and have a mini photoshoot! As always, we recommend taking a blue-tooth-enabled tripod like this one to get the perfect solo shot.

  • If you are not in Northern Michigan, look for a Christmas tree farm and go on the off-times (during the week, probably) to grab some photos of your own! Make sure to ask for permission and take everything listed above.

2. If you haven’t already, make time to schedule the majority of your content over the next two months.

  • We recommend using scheduling apps that are free like Meta Business Suite (for IG and FB), Pinterest has its own enabled that is easy to use, and for Linkedin, you may want to venture into the land of Loomly (our favorite), Hootsuite or Planoly.

  • Put aside a day or a weekend (if that’s when it’s easiest) or even a few hours to get the majority of your work completed.

  • Use a content calendar! Free printouts online can be helpful, but we prefer to use Excel spreadsheets.

3. Lastly, we recommend that you consider your goals for the holiday push.

Are you trying to create leads to make sales? What has your audience been buying the most of this year, or what content have they been most interested in (so that you can get their attention)?

Do you have a number that you are trying to hit? What are all of the ways that you can reach your audience? We want to think about multiple channels like social media platforms, newsletters, website popups, and more!

These are just a few tips to get you ready for this busy holiday season. For more help with the stress of digital marketing, we are here for your needs. Contact us here to learn more.
